Step 2: Base Installation

Next, we install a crushed stone base that's typically 4 to 6 inches thick. This base distributes weight evenly and prevents the concrete from cracking due to ground movement. We compact this layer multiple times to make sure it's rock solid.

Step 3: Forming and Reinforcement

We set up wooden or metal forms to shape your driveway exactly how you want it. Then we add steel reinforcement, either rebar or wire mesh, depending on the project. This gives your concrete the strength it needs to handle heavy vehicles without cracking.

Step 4: Pouring and Finishing

Step 5: Curing

Taking Care of Your New Driveway

One of the best things about concrete driveways is how little maintenance they need. But a little care goes a long way toward keeping your driveway looking great for decades.

Keep it clean. Sweep off dirt and debris regularly. Rinse it with a hose or pressure washer a couple times a year. If you notice oil stains, clean them up quickly because petroleum can break down the sealant over time.

Apply a concrete sealer every 2 to 3 years. This protects the surface from moisture, stains, and wear. It's an easy job you can do yourself, or we can handle it for you.
